Troll Squad

Troll Squad was originally started as a group of friends that just wanted to joke with each other and fish. What started as a means to get on the water quickly became a passion. Troll Squad has now grown to a group of guys that are serious about what we do. We aim to help unite kayak anglers around the world by sharing our stories and our success.

The squad also has a deep rooted history in our armed forces. Contributing to our veterans and giving back is one way we are able to show our appreciation for our brothers and sisters present, future, and past. Troll squad is much more than a fishing team. It is a means for us to give back. It is a way for us to say thank you.  Stay tuned to upcoming events, news, reviews, and how you can also help give back to Heroes On the Water!

Meet the guys that make up The Squad!

Daniel Weir    I'm 39 years old and I've been fishing all me life. Started kayak fishing two years ago. Was always looking to get to the spot out of casting range. I work as a shop foreman at local mechanic shop and am in the Army Reserves as a Warrant Officer assigned to the 377th TSC. I use a 2015 Hobie Outback. I mainly fish inshore saltwater looking for specks, reds, and flounder. This summer I will join a great group of guys in south Florida to target snook.  I live in the greater New Orleans area now grew up in south Alabama. I'm married with a 4 year old son.

MISSION SIX

Mission six is more than just us taking out our heroes. It is more than us offering a trip on the water for a day away. Mission Six was born to let these men and women that protect our every day way of life, that no matter what, any climb and place, we will have their back. Our men and women volunteer everyday to step out and face the evils of today. They put themselves in front of us. Whether it be on a battlefield in Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam, or even Korea. Whether it be in the streets that we walk and drive every day. In our own homes where memories are made. They wake up every single day to to protect us. WE WILL PROTECT THEM! Mission Six is our way to tell them we have their back and they can count on us!

Here are a few of our heroes that we have had the privilege of having on the water. These are just a few of the many men and women we have helped so far and hopefully will only be the beginning!

On September 24th I got my first experience catching fish in a kayak. I also had the pleasure of having my brother and Father with me. We had an absolute blast and the guys from Troll Squad and Mission Six treated us like royalty. As well as the staff at Point Aux Chene Kayak rentals. I can't wait until I can go again!

A couple weeks ago Matt with Troll squad posted on Facebook offering a trip to all current/former LEO, Firefighters, Paramedics, and Military. As a veteran with 10 years in the Army National Guard and a deployment to Iraq I wanted to know a little more about it.

After talking to Matt for a while, I gathered a group of fellow veterans and the wife and we set up a date that worked for all of us.

The only thing we brought with us was alcohol, and as promised everything was provided. We literally only brought alcohol and bodies. Normally when companies offer a military deal or something it's a discount, but this was a trip totally on Troll Squad Kayak Fishing.

Once we all got there and met up with Matt and Shawn, they hooked us all up, got everything in the kayaks and put us in the water. It was truly a blast, we had fun joking with them and of course talking shit like any vets do.

We had so much fun we are all talking about getting kayaks now, it's easier than you think, my pregnant wife survived with minimal gripes.

If you are thinking about trying out Kayak Fishing, Troll Squad is the ONLY way to go! I would recommend them to anyone I know, even if you don't catch, it's still gonna be a blast just hanging out with them!

A letter from Sheilla Harrison, A deputy with Livingston Parish Sherrif Department:

Mathew

I just wanted to drop you a note and tell you how much I appreciated your taking me on my first Kayak Fishing Trip.

As you know, I'm a deputy in Livingston Parish and between all the police shootings and loosing my home in the recent flooding, well I guess I didn't realize how much I needed some down time.

As soon as I got on the water, I could feel my cares just fading away. Thank you for your patience with me as I had no idea what to expect and no experience with fishing outside of fishing in stocked catfish ponds. I loved it.  It was an amazing day and I can not wait to get back out on the water.  Thank you again, Mathew. It was the highlight of my vacation.

These are just a few of the men and women we strive to be there for! Please!!! Help us help them. Like, Share, Comment, and if you know anyone in need, please send them our way. Also any Tournament we post or Shirt we sell, all proceeds go to help us get theses amazing warriors on the water! Stay tuned for our future events.
